Styling Shortalls

Bringing back the overalls mom style! I would normally call these denim overall shorts but they have a new name shortalls. Maybe that’s just what we are calling the adult version not to confuse them with the ones we all wore as children. The same problems still arise wearing them however, like trying not to get the long shoulder buckle from falling in the toilet while unhooking to use the bathroom. Having the buckle either not stay hooked or the total opposite and can’t get it to unhook when you do need to take them off. They are great for not showing off your butt crack when bending over but also you are likely to stand up from the bend over with a major wedge.

Don’t let any of these things discourage you from rocking some overalls as an adult.

Here are some ways I’ve worn them

This one is called the tomboy, it’s a great way to reminisce your childhood years of looking cute while playing baseball with the neighborhood boys. 🙂

The next look is the farmer mom. I feel like I should be picking strawberries with the kiddos while rocking this look… of course that requires a lot of bending over so use the kids as cover while picking all those wedges.

This is the layered look, I would wear this look when I know I’m going to be hanging out in the air conditioning most of the day but ready for the summer heat with the sleeveless tee underneath.

I wanted to come up with a more dressy way to wear overalls but I couldn’t they are overalls for crying out loud! When they aren’t on trend the only people that continue to wear them are hillbillies, farmers and children so with that it’s obvious they aren’t meant to be worn during a more classy situation. Hey! But if you can come up with a fancy way to rock some shortalls let me know in the comments! I’m all for giving it a go!

  1. Do you find that the A&F shortalls run true to size? I’m debating on what size I should get in the black pair…sometimes I’m a 4, others I’m a 6
