Beach Essentials

Since I just finished spending a few days beach side I figured I’d let you all know the products that worked for this mama to feel put together and comfortable when sweating it out and getting my vitamin D or while frolicking in the waves with the kiddos.

Having a good all in one cc cream, I used It cosmetics CC illuminating cream, it was my go to for the face. I didn’t need a separate sunscreen and concealer! Win win!!

My can’t live without makeup product is mascara so even when I’m just going to be hanging beachside I need my mascara. I wanted a waterproof one for obvious reasons so I picked this one up. I’m going to be honest, it didn’t WOW me so if you have any recommendations for a good waterproof mascara let me know; there are plenty of summer days ahead where it’ll be needed.

Swimsuit {this one is years old so I found a similar one}

A good hat to control and tame my hair from the beach winds because I can’t pull off a messy bun.

One thing I didn’t do but totally recommend is take a cheap pair of sunnies with you not your nice ones because they will get destroyed by the sand and salt water and you may or may not sit in them accidentally. *After reading my essentials to the hubs he recommended the sunglasses to be polarized, it makes the water look bluer. 🙂

I like to get my tan on so I don’t usually slap on the 50+ SPF (except on the face) I’ve been a fan the Hawaiian Tropic stuff for years. You just have to remember to reapply repeatedly so you don’t burn.

Now the last, and arguably the most important thing of them all, is a swimsuit that makes you feel comfortable and confident that won’t ride up or down when handling babies and toddlers. I’ve found a one piece is the most practical because I’ve done the two piece before and had kids I’m carrying kick down my bottoms or pull at my top. EMBARRASSING!! Now if you feel comfy, confident; can manage hauling kids; roll the cooler and lug the umbrella down the beach with out providing the locals a peep show then you rock that two piece. Me, I’ll stick to the two piece during my back yard vitamin D sessions or while sitting pool side and not responsible for as much stuff.

Now after getting back from a day at the beach and getting all the sand out of all your children’s crevasses, everyone is waiting on you to get ready to go grab and bite to eat! Yay! So take a quick shower using your favorite tropical scented body wash; and who has time to wash and dry the hair? I just spray a good amount of dry shampoo in the hair, add a few curls with the curling iron and a yummy smelling after sun lotion and BAM! you are ready get dressed and go to dinner with the family.

As far as makeup I just reapplied my cc cream and mascara.
